Life in our Watersheds

iNaturalist
The Northern Chester County Watersheds Project
Our new Collection Project uses the newly created iNaturalist Place called “Northern Chester County Watersheds” as its geographic boundary. This project captures all iNat observations made in the streams and surrounding habitats in this part of the county, including everything from microscopic organisms in local creeks to wildflowers in riparian buffers and amphibians in our wetlands.

eBird
eBird is among the world’s largest biodiversity-related science projects, with more than 100 million bird sightings contributed annually by eBirders around the world and an average participation growth rate of approximately 20% year over year. A collaborative enterprise with hundreds of partner organizations, thousands of regional experts, and hundreds of thousands of users, eBird is managed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Pa Herps
Pennsylvania Herp Identification is an educational tool for the public on the reptiles and amphibians found though out Pennsylvania. The project also aims to create knowledge to Pennsylvania residents not only through the internet, but also through interaction with the public, with the help of volunteers in the field to communicate with individuals on a personal level.
